Bighorn Golf Clubhouse and Penthouses

Palm Desert, California

Under the direction of Lusardi Construction Company, the newly constructed modern facilities at Bighorn Golf Club include 80,000 ft2 of clubhouse and four private luxury penthouses. The sheer scale of this project is remarkable, and in addition to its incredible size, the building has some very exciting structural details that required our expertise.

  • 300k lft of light gauge steel studs and 75k lft of light gauge track
  • 400k ft2 of drywall installed
  • 2,000,000 lbs of structural steel, 1,000,000 lbs of rebar, and 95k cubic feet of concrete

Curved walls require ingenuity.

The rounded shapes on the inside and outside of the building created challenges when it came to finding the ideal materials to execute the vision. The radius on the outside of the building made it too difficult to use the recommended ACM panels. Another solution needed to be determined that would preserve the beauty of the structure.

Finding the ideal building material.

In lieu of ACM panels, we recommended the use of EIFS panels on the building’s exterior. EIFS is much easier to install on the curved walls of the building. And fortunately, while it maintained the buildings aesthetic, the use of this product saved money and enabled us to finish the project early.

Our client's vision is our priority.

At the end of the day, we left this job feeling proud of the service we provided. Our client got the aesthetic result they wanted under budget, and on time. Whether we’re working on a luxury penthouse or something far less grand, quality and safety always come first.
